Eight out of ten SME owners describe the same scene.

They arrive at the office and before they reach their desk, ten problems are waiting. Urgent requests, delayed payments, missing quotes. By the time they sit down, the day is already gone.

The way out is to bring yourself and your team one step ahead of the game.

This week’s action step: Build your Friday Scoreboard.

Your goal: fewer surprises, less firefighting, more control over next week.

The five numbers to track each week:

  1. Important meetings, deadlines, delivery dates

  2. Quotes sent

  3. POs received

  4. Invoices sent

  5. Payments received

Set it up in one hour:

  1. Create a Google Sheet titled “Weekly Scoreboard.”

  2. Add columns: Week Start, Meetings/Deadlines, Quotes Sent, POs Received, Invoices Sent, Payments Received, Notes.

  3. Assign one person to submit the numbers every Friday by 12 PM.

  4. Block 30 minutes in your calendar Friday afternoon to review the sheet.

  5. Use the numbers to prepare your priorities and actions for the coming week.

What you gain in the first week:

  • A clear view of where things stand before the weekend

  • Risks spotted early instead of late

  • Less time reacting, more time leading

Your action for today: block one hour next week and set up your scoreboard.
