Last week, we talked about respecting time your own and your team’s.
That was about setting boundaries, ending the culture of constant availability, and creating a rhythm that protects focus.
This week, we go one level deeper.
Now that you are setting clear boundaries when it comes to your time, it is the perfect moment to plan it with precision.
High-performing leaders and teams do not rely on to-do lists or endless multitasking.
They use a simple but powerful method called Time Boxing.
In simple words, Time Boxing means deciding in advance what you will do and when you will do it.
Each task gets its own box of time in your calendar. When the time is over, you move on.
According to Harvard Business Review, people who work with time boxes finish more, stress less, and make faster decisions because they no longer waste energy thinking about what comes next.
This week’s action step: Build your first Time Box routine and start training your team to do the same.
How to do it in one hour
Define your main priorities.
Pick three things that truly matter this week. Meetings do not count.Create time boxes.
Schedule specific blocks in your calendar for each task. Example: 9:00–10:30 strategy, 13:00–14:00 client updates, 15:30–16:30 process check.Protect the box.
Close your inbox, silence notifications, and tell your team you are in focus mode.Teach your team.
Encourage them to block their own deep-work hours and respect each other’s boxes. Fewer interruptions, better results.Automate the admin.
If you spend too much time chasing clients, collecting files, or following up on projects, tools like Motion.io help you automate the client workflow so your time boxes stay clean for real work.Reflect and repeat.
At the end of the week, review what worked and what got in the way. Adjust and improve.
Bonus reminder
Respecting time is about boundaries.
Time Boxing is about ownership.
Together, they give you and your team structure, calm, and control over your workday.
